adar is the historic Croatian town, three thousand years old. Zadar is the cultural, economic and administrative centre of northern Dalmatia. During its existence it was for many centuries the home of the Illyrian Lilburn and for thousand years the capital city of Dalmatia. Zadar is a city rich in spiritual and material culture, as well as in a tourist identity. Zadar is also a unique treasury of ancient, medieval and Renaissance archaeology and architecture. Zadar was built around the Roman forum, a city inside well-kept walls. Full of archives, museums, and libraries, it is the keeper of literary and musical treasure. Today it is the city with much artistic activity: the Permanent Exhibition of Ecclesiastical Arts, with occasional special exhibitions, galleries, concerts at the Church of St. Donat, puppeteers, as well as pop music and sporting events, water sports, festivals and basketball.

eteorological data: Zadar is in the Mediterranean climate zone. This is characterised by clear, hot summers, mildly winter, and maximum rainfall coming in the autumn to winter period. In the summer months of July and August the days are warm (max. temp. above 25°C), while there are some 10-15 very hot days (max. temp. above 30°C).The lowest rainfall is recorded in July (30 mm) and August (43mm).The sunniest months are July and August with 11 hours of sunshine a day. The mean temperature of the sea in the summer is about 22°C.
